Children's hope: help ZUSDMTs. Onko 6
In November 2018, Kyivstar, together with the Ukrainian Philanthropic Marketplace, launched the project "Children's Hope" to help children with heart and cancer diseases in Ukrainian hospitals. Despite the war, the program continues to operate and assist Ukrainian hospitals with the necessary medical equipment.
In the framework of the Oncology project in May 2022, the Municipal Non-Profit Enterprise of the Lviv Regional Council "Western Ukrainian Specialized Children's Medical Center" will receive assistance.
The funds raised will be used to purchase 2 Eleganza 1 functional beds for the Children's Oncology and Bone Marrow Transplant Clinic, as well as an LS-1100 Immunofluorescent Analyzer with a consumable test system for important laboratory tests for children with cancer.
ZUSDMC became the most powerful of the regional centers of Ukraine in pediatric oncology and hematology according to statistics 2019-2020. Due to the implementation of the strategy for the development of the oncology service during 2014-2020. According to statistics, more than 200 children from all regions of Ukraine received cancer treatment in the institution during 2019-2021, and since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, more than 400 patients with cancer at various stages of treatment have been hospitalized.
ZUSDMC has launched a large-scale project in the field of pediatric oncology and transplantation. According to preliminary estimates, at least 200 children and adolescents in Ukraine need a bone marrow transplant every year. About 50-75 of them are residents of the Western region and 15-20 are residents of Lviv. Today, such operations are performed on children only in the NDSL "OKHMATDIT" and the National Cancer Institute. At the starting capacity, the center can perform 12-15 transplants during the year.
The equipment will be transferred to the Children's Oncology and Bone Marrow Transplant Clinic of the Center and the Clinical Laboratory of the hospital. All other projects and news "Children's Hope" can be found here.
