A girl from an immigrant family needs medicine
Twelve years ago, a daughter was born in the Pokotilo family. Unfortunately, the long-awaited joy was overshadowed: during childbirth, the girl received a severe head injury, which provoked a disease of the nervous system. Katya has several diagnoses, one of which is symptomatic epilepsy. This diagnosis requires the child's constant intake of anticonvulsant drugs.
During 12 years of treatment and rehabilitation, Kata had a remission period of 4 years, when her seizures almost left her. But then she started having myoclonic seizures, which are very difficult to deal with. Doctors selected an anticonvulsant drug that helped the girl. But this drug is quite expensive.
With the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the family had to leave Donetsk region. They lost their jobs and all the material things they had. Now the family lives in the Kyiv region as displaced persons.
Katyusha constantly needs rehabilitation, which is also not cheap. But anticonvulsant drugs are vital for her. The girl was transferred to another school this year. She will study at home, individually, in the 5th grade. During the treatment and rehabilitation, Kata has positive results. But if you stop taking anticonvulsant drugs, she may have seizures again. Then all these achievements and results can disappear. Today's realities of life do not allow parents to purchase these drugs on their own. Kateryna's mother is asking for help.
