A girl from a large family needs treatment
In June, Olya will be 12 years old. This girl was born into a large family in the Rivne region, where her parents are raising five children. From the age of two, she began to suffer from frequent acute respiratory viral infections, bronchitis and stomatitis. But local district doctors assured that the child would outgrow and everything would pass. But at the end of August 2016, the girl became very ill: she turned yellow and lost consciousness, her temperature rose. "We brought her to the regional hospital, – says Olya’s mother, – and from there to the Rivne regional children's hospital, to the hematology department".
For six months the child was examined and treated almost continuously. Doctors suspected cancer because almost all examinations indicated it. For more than six months, the family lived in horror from a possible oncology diagnosis in a child. And Olya was lucky in this and the cancer was not confirmed...
When Olya's condition was stabilized a little, she was sent to the capital Okhmatdet, where she was received by doctor Moroz I. from the Shupik Institute. She advised to look for a connection with disorders of the immune system. Then there were studies in Germany and the USA, where they established the final diagnosis: primary immunodeficiency.
Olya is a very cheerful, patient and intelligent girl. Although she quickly gets tired and has memory problems, the girl loves to sing, take care of pets, and helps her mother. She has a favorite rabbit, Fluffy, and a cat, Tigrik. Olya is very fond of three older brothers (two are students and one more is tenth grader) and her younger sister Ekaterina, who is in grade 2.
Father of Olya is an invalid of the 2nd group of general disease. The family lives in the countryside.
The doctor prescribed Olya the expensive drug Rapamun 1 mg. Parents try to do monthly examinations for the accumulation of this drug in the blood of dauther on their own. Thanks to this treatment, the girl does not take the hormones of prednisone and there is no need for the quarterly administration of Bioven-mono No. 7. She became more active, more enduring, her blood counts became much better. "The complexion is not gray, but pink, – says the mother, – she is less sick with colds. Therefore, we are asking you for help in purchasing this drug. Without him, Olya will not have a full and long life. Thank you very much for responding!".
