Sofia is a ray of light that continues to shine even in the darkest days. She is learning to play the piano, drawing, is passionate about science, and dreams of a great future. She is a child with a big heart, extraordinary strength of spirit, and boundless faith in goodness. Her greatest dream is to become a doctor to help other children who share her suffering.
Everything in her life changed irrevocably with the beginning of the full-scale invasion. Amidst explosions and fear, the family was forced to leave their home in search of safety. It seemed that they had already survived the worst. But just then, fate prepared another difficult test. Sofia's well-being deteriorated sharply, and during hospitalization it was discovered that her blood sugar level was six times higher than normal. Then the family heard the terrible words for the first time – type 1 diabetes.
From that moment on, a new life began, in which every day is subject to sugar monitoring, insulin injections, carbohydrate counting, and constant control. For a 13-year-old child, this is extremely difficult. Each measurement with a glucometer is pain, dozens of punctures of little fingers, fear, and fatigue. But even despite this, Sonya remains strong. She does not let the disease take away her childhood.
Due to Sofia’s active, dynamic rhythm of life, controlling her sugar level with a regular glucometer is becoming more and more difficult and painful. Continuous glucose monitoring sensors will not only make it easier to control her sugar level, but will also give Sofia the opportunity to feel freer, to live a full life without constant pain and fear. This is not just a device – it is a chance for a happy childhood, for peace and security, for a smile without tears.
