Maria is a very active, kind, and cheerful girl. She is 10 years old. She loves drawing and spending time with friends. But every day she has to live by strict rules: constant blood sugar measurements, insulin injections, dietary control, and the fear of sharp glucose fluctuations. Maria has type 1 diabetes – a serious chronic disease that requires continuous blood sugar monitoring.
The girl is growing up and wants more independence, but by nature she is shy. Maria feels uncomfortable around friends when she needs to measure her blood sugar with a glucometer.
To live more safely and avoid dangerous hypo- and hyperglycemic episodes, Maria needs a continuous glucose monitoring system. Such monitoring allows blood sugar levels to be tracked around the clock, enables timely responses to changes, and significantly improves the child's quality of life.
Unfortunately, this is a very heavy financial burden for the family, as the sensors need to be replaced regularly. Sensors for Maria mean safety day and night, restful sleep, and the chance to live a fuller childhood – and for her parents, peace of mind, as they receive notifications when blood sugar changes sharply or critically and can respond in time.
Please support Maria! Together we can help her feel more confident and make her life safer.
