Bush is a dog with a damaged spine. He used to live in a house guarding his masters’ property until the day when the drunk neighbors decided to spend some time shooting the neighbor’ dog just for fun. The bullets hit his spine. When the volunteers were taking the dog, they were offered to put it down… But Bush survived! Dogs are not aware of their disabilities. They can lose paws, eyesight or even the ability to get up and move normally, but they still enjoy being alive! They want to keep on living!

The animal shelter “Buddy, give me your paw!” accommodates a lot of disabled pets saved by the volunteers, cured and now living in the Shelter. However, there are some special pets among them. They are the dogs hit by cars or victims of human cruelty (like Bush). They got severe spinal traumas and lost the ability to run, but they don’t lose heart and move on their front legs.

Ten dogs with damaged spines unable to walk and crawling on their front legs live in the shelter “Buddy, give me your paw!” in Zaporizhzhia now. Such pets require special living conditions in the shelter. When they crawl on the asphalt surface, they rub off their back legs, and dirt and dust infect the wounds and cause inflammations and exacerbations of old injuries.

Now the shelter needs two modern spacious open-air cages with kennels, a roof and a good wooden floor for these special pets. The dogs with damaged spines will feel comfortable and cozy in such cages.
