Help for homeless animals of Dnipropetrovsk region

The animal shelter in the city of Kamianske (Dnipropetrovsk region) was established in 2020. During its existence, the institution took in 854 animals, sterilized 330 animals, provided veterinary assistance to 506 animals, and found a new home for 358 animals.

Currently, Dnipropetrovsk region is under constant shelling from the Russian Federation, and during the period of martial law, the number of homeless animals on the streets of cities has increased. This is due to the fact that when evacuating, people leave their pets behind, and once pets become strays. Sterilization is considered the most humane and effective method of regulating the number of homeless animals, recognized by specialists and international organizations.

Unfortunately, the country's shelters cannot accommodate all homeless animals, and therefore sterilization is one of the important areas of work of these organizations. Kamianske shelter needs help with funding. By raising UAH 300,000, the team of veterinarians will be able to sterilize 450 cats and dogs.

In addition to helping to solve the problem of increasing the number of homeless animals, sterilization also reduces the risk of developing certain diseases such as breast cancer, pyometra (uterine infection) and extends the life of animals by 3-5 years.
