Four years ago, Milana fell ill with a severe form of bronchitis and ended up in the intensive care unit of a hospital. It was then that doctors diagnosed her with type 1 diabetes. It was difficult to accept this new reality, but she coped. When it seemed that she had been through enough, Milana and her mother were forced to leave their home and move from the occupied territory to a rented apartment in Zaporizhia.
Milana is now eighteen and studies at a teacher training college. Having gone through her own journey of pain and acceptance, she dreams of becoming a psychologist to help people cope with loss and grief. Milana loves animals and enjoys drawing and creating interesting crafts from pebbles, paper, and paints.
The girl really needs constant sugar monitoring. Only thanks to the use of sensors, Milana's sugar levels have improved, her glycated hemoglobin has decreased, which is very important for a normal life without complications.
Milana's mother works as a nurse in a hospital, but their financial situation does not allow them to pay for a rented apartment and provide their daughter with constant monitoring to measure her sugar levels. Therefore, they are asking for support and assistance in purchasing sensors for Milana.
