Let's help Misha move forward

Because of epileptic seizures, Mykhailo from Dnipro lost the ability to speak and understand spoken language. He has been in remission for seven years, and regular rehabilitation helps him regain lost skills. He is now scheduled to undergo another round of rehabilitation at the "Ioannіv Center".

When Misha was five months old, he suddenly began having severe epileptic seizures during the night. After extensive examinations, doctors diagnosed West syndrome and later Lennox-Gastaut syndrome. Both conditions are among the most severe forms of childhood epilepsy. The cause of these disorders could not be determined even after numerous examinations.

The first years of his life were the most difficult. Seizures occurred every day and later every hour. Doctors tried 18 different medications, but the disease continued to progress. By the age of three, Mykhailo had completely lost the ability to speak and understand spoken language. The seizures caused serious developmental impairments, and he now requires constant care.

Properly selected therapy became a real lifesaver. For the past seven years, Misha has remained in medical remission and takes only one anticonvulsant medication – Depakine. The absence of seizures has allowed him to continue developing.

Mykhailo has advanced to the third grade of a rehabilitation education center, works with specialists, attends swimming lessons, and regularly undergoes rehabilitation. Over the past year, he has become more attentive, communicates better with those around him, understands everyday speech, and has developed eye contact.

The boy loves music, water, and communication. He is kind and gentle, and instead of words, he gives sincere hugs. Every new achievement comes with great effort, so his parents especially value the results of his perseverance.

In December 2025, Misha completed his first rehabilitation course at the "Ioannіv Center", after which noticeable improvements occurred.

This summer, he will undergo a two-week course of neurocorrection, sensory integration, and sessions with a psychologist. Please help Mykhailo continue his path toward new skills and a more independent life!
