Meet Zakhar, he is 4 years old, he is a very smart, clever and active child: he loves to build Lego, constructors and fool around with his peers. Zakharchik is a very welcome and long-awaited child, so when he was born, his parents' happiness knew no bounds. This happiness lasted for 1 year. But on March 6, 2021, the life of Zakhar and his parents turned upside down, because he was diagnosed with an incurable disease – type 1 diabetes. And for 3.6 years now, he has been bravely enduring finger punctures and insulin injections every day.

Zakhar has a severe form of the disease and has concomitant diseases. The child's diabetes is poorly controlled by simple methods, because the glucometer shows the blood sugar level at the time of measurement, not constantly. However, constant blood glucose monitoring can greatly simplify the course of the disease. It will save Zakhar from painful finger punctures 10 times a day. For Zakhar, every measurement is important, because failure to raise or lower his blood sugar level in time can cost him his life.

Previously, his parents could provide for Zakhar's life without daily pain, but the war has made its own adjustments. Living on the border with constant shelling and almost hourly alarms is not easy. Due to the war, the family's income decreased significantly, which made it impossible to provide Zakhar with appropriate monitoring, so they had to return to finger piercing. Despite his problems, Zakhar is always smiling and cheerful. Every day he inspires his family to fight for his life without pain. And despite all the trials he goes through every day, Zakhar is a positive child who sincerely believes in a bright future.
