Help Artem restore his hearing

For the first 8 years of his life, Artem "heard" with his eyes: he read lips and hands. When the boy was given hearing aids, his world was filled with sounds – and this gave a powerful impetus to his development! Unfortunately, Artem was recently diagnosed with auditory neuropathy. Now he needs more powerful hearing aids and accessories.

Artem's birth was difficult: a loop formed on the umbilical cord, which tightened with the onset of labor. The child stopped receiving oxygen.

Artem's development was delayed. Doctors explained this by damage to the central nervous system. As it turned out later, the area of ​​the brain responsible for hearing was damaged by asphyxia.

Despite regular classes with a speech therapist, Artem still did not speak. An audiologist examined him three times, but did not find any hearing problems. On April 8, 2022, Svetlana volunteered at the Mechnikov Hospital. That day, she took her son with her, went to the otolaryngology department, where they discovered the boy had bilateral hearing loss.

Caring people helped raise 60,000 UAH to buy Artem hearing aids. After their installation, the boy began to develop rapidly. 

Artem studies in the 3rd grade of a school for hearing impaired children. In his free time, he plays basketball and dreams of becoming a famous basketball player.

Recently, Artem began to complain that sometimes he does not hear and does not understand when people address him. The boy was diagnosed with bilateral neuropathy, in which the connection between the auditory nerve and the brain is lost.

Phonak Naida hearing aids were selected for the boy at the special center. To get used to it, he uses a test version of these devices. Artem needs also a device for drying, batteries and an adapter, with which he could adjust the hearing aids himself.
