When the boy turned a year old, his mother flew with him to Turkey, where he was diagnosed with a rare condition called Smith-Lemli-Opitz syndrome. This is a genetic disease that occurs once in 40,000 babies. When the diagnosis was finally confirmed, the boy was prescribed appropriate treatment, a lactose-free and gluten-free diet, and rehabilitation.

Now Bohdan is 5 years old, he can walk, partially understands spoken language and smiles at the world. His severe mental retardation and growth retardation require constant rehabilitation to acquire new skills and live without pain and suffering.

Bohdan and his mother are bright and kind people. Unfortunately, without our help, they will not cope, because huge amounts of money are spent on medicines and special food, and his mother cannot work because she is constantly caring for Bogdan. The boy needs physical rehabilitation, ergotherapy, acupuncture, lessons with a speech therapist and a correctional teacher. The family's financial resources are exhausted.
