Help me walk on my own!

Anhelina Baklanova is 12 years old, she is a girl with a subgroup "A" of disability. Her diagnosis is cerebral palsy, spastic tetraparesis, deformity of both thighs. She comes from a large family of refugees from Luhansk. She has a brother, a sister and mother. Due to the fighting in the east of the country, their usual life has collapsed. Fleeing the war, they left their home and now live in a social center in Odesa. Anhelina is a special girl, who needs constant care. She cannot walk at all, for 12 years she moves only in a wheelchair.

Anhelina was born as a premature baby. Immediately after the birth, she went to the newborn pathology ward. Severe damage to the central nervous system resulted from asphyxia, oxygen starvation of the brain during childbirth. Until the age of eight, the girl suffered from epilepsy attacks, impaired swallowing, speech disorders. Now as a result of restorative treatment, taking medications, the condition of Anhelina is gradually improving. Now she can already do the activities she wasn’t able before. But the treatment has to be continued.

Now she is prescribed long-term treatment at the Sitenko’s Institute in Kharkiv in a hospital setting with multiple surgical interventions. There is a chance to put the child on her own feet! The cost of treatment is 75,000 UAH. There is no such money in the family, Anhelina’s mother is a visually impaired person, and she raises children alone. There is barely enough money for food, diapers, medicine. Anhelina is a creative person; she likes to draw, make beautiful handicrafts and sculpt. But her cherished dream is to get up from a wheelchair and walk on her own feet like other children. She makes every effort to do this and she really does her best. But she needs financial support to stand on her own feet!
