Until the age of nine, Ivan was a normal, healthy boy. But in 2021, his health began to deteriorate. At the Rudnev Centre in Dnipro, Vanya was diagnosed with Crohn's disease.
In accordance with cooperation agreement No. 21 between the Ukrainian Charity Exchange International Charitable Foundation and the charity operator POMAGAEM Charitable Foundation dated 31 August 2020 and supplementary agreement No. 21. 293 dated 27 November 2024, the project ‘Help Vanya cope with Crohn's disease’ was posted on the website of the ICF ‘UBB’ - dobro.ua - with the aim of attracting donations to pay for the treatment of Ivan Shymansky.
During the fundraising campaign, it became necessary to use part of the funds collected on the website of the Ukrainian Charity Exchange International Charitable Foundation (UBB) – dobro.ua – to purchase special food for the boy. Therefore, according to letter No. 763 dated 12 December 2024, we received the collected amount of 4,340.00 UAH (four thousand three hundred and forty hryvnias, 00 kopecks) to the Fund's account and continued the collection on the dobro.ua platform.
In December 2024, we spent all the transferred funds on paying for special food for Ivan in the amount of 4,340.00 UAH (four thousand three hundred and forty hryvnias, 00 kopecks).
In May of this year, the boy's family again turned to us with a request to support Ivan with the necessary special food. Therefore, according to letter No. 177 dated 06.05.2025, we asked to transfer the amount of 8,600.00 UAH (eighteen thousand six hundred hryvnias, 00 kopecks) already collected to the Fund's account and continue the fundraising campaign on the dobro.ua platform.
In early May 2025, we provided the boy with the necessary special food Resurs Junior in the amount of 18,600.00 UAH (eighteen thousand six hundred hryvnias, 00 kopecks).
Ivan's condition is currently stable. According to the results of the latest tests, some indicators are outside the normal range, in particular, the level of C-reactive protein has increased, indicating an inflammatory process in the body. This is how his joint problem manifests itself. Ivan's treatment plan has not changed: he continues to take all his medications as before.
Ivan finished the school year with honours and good grades of 10-12 points. His mother is very proud of her son. In his free time, the boy enjoys computer games, cycling, playing chess and trying to walk more. He also loves to help his mother with household chores: cleaning and cooking delicious meals.
Currently, all funds transferred from the Ukrainian Charity Exchange have been spent on the boy's needs, and the project is still raising funds.
We sincerely thank the donors and partners of dobro.ua for their help, and the UBB team for their many years of cooperation!
