Help to walk again! 3

You already know little Bogdan Dimitrov. Now he is 5. It is now three years that he combats with drowning consequences. We just remind: at age of one year and three months he fell down in a deep pit filled with water. When people managed to take him out, the child did not breathe. His heart stopped to beat twice – the first time before the ambulance arrives and the second time – on the way to the hospital. After the second stop, the doctors concluded: clinical death 12 minutes, brain dead, coma 3rd stage, no chances to live. However, Bogdan was alive. 

He had to suffer eight operations, purulent meningitis, loss of sight and several comas for three months. All this time the child’s life just hanged by a hair. Doctors were preparing the mother for the worst. But Bogdan’s mother, Maria, did not cease to believe and was saying that her son was strong and that he will live for sure. The doctors feared she may go mad.

Little Bogdan did survive. He was discharged from the hospital with the diagnosis of hypoxic ischemic central nervous system damage. Bogdan neither saw, nor moved, he could not speak and was tube fed. Poor child was not taken for a rehabilitation course. He was prescribed medication with Cerebrokurin and such treatment brought good results. Having received 7 treatment courses, the child began to hold his head; he started to move his right side limbs, began to understand what was told him and pronounce some words. The treatment followed with massages and rehabilitation course, and little Bogdan was able now to walk in a baby walker. Now he can sit down without help, turn from back to abdomen and crawl. After the last rehabilitation course in “Innovo” rehabilitation centre Bogdan ‘s left side begins to be active.

Bogdan likes colourful books and car toys. He has his favourite verses and fairy tales. Also, he is fond of looking at pet animals pictures. Little child is interested to watch cartoons, especially “Auntie Owl Lessons”, he likes “SpongeBob Square Pants” and “Fixiki”. Where people put a period, God put a coma. The child’s organism slowly but steadily is being restored. Still, the road to convalescence is long and very costly. “Innovo” plans the next rehabilitation course at UAH 37,080. Bogdan’s mother raises the child alone and cannot earn monies even for the bare essentials because Bogdan needs a constant care. With Your support we together can grant the gift of future to this nice and bright child who has proved time and again that he loves life and is ready to fight for it.
