Little Vlada and her mother need our help. The mother and her two twin babies Vladislava and Sviatoslav are hospitalized at the Institute of Neurosurgery in Kyiv. Immediately after the birth Vlada has survived a brain hemorrhage and now requires emergency surgery to replace the shunt system installed: it turned out that the old one was not working. However, her mother has no money for a new shunt and consumables for surgery.
The story of little Vladislava and Sviatoslav’s birth began like in TV series for women. When she was pregnant Olena was waiting for her civil husband to come from his work mission. She didn’t have health complaints. Suddenly she felt that she the delivery began 27th week of pregnancy). The woman was brought urgently to the hospital. However, on the way there was a car accident. Later the traffic police said that perhaps a strong guardian angel protected the passengers who had only bruises.
As a result Olena was sent to the perinatal center with the ambulance. Thee the woman gave birth to twins: a boy named Sviatoslav and a girl named Vladislava. Immediately after birth the children were transferred to the intensive care ward. The children breathed with the help of medical ventilator. On the seventh day of a brain hemorrhage was detected in Vlada. The girl was operated on to eliminate the effects of hemorrhage but it did not produce the desired results. While under supervision Vlada was diagnosed with hydrocephalus that developed as a result of hemorrhage. Two months after the first surgery Vlada was operated on for the second time and a shunt system was installed.
Time passed. After a month and a half in the intensive care ward the children were transferred to the room where their mother stayed. During this time the father visited the children only twice: the first day they were born and a day after. He didn’t show up any more…
When they stayed in the ordinary room they still had a lot of troubles. Sviatoslav fell ill with pneumonia and Vlada didn’t feel better after the shunt system installation. All the expenses doubled: medicines, consumables, food.
Olena felt distrust of local doctors. Having done all the controlling examinations she called the pediatric neurosurgeon from Kyiv, Prof. Yuri Olexandrovych and told about their problem. She heard an affirmative answer: “Come to Kyiv!”
The next day Olena with two children refused further treatment and supervision at the prenatal center. Two days later the mother and the children were hospitalized at the Pediatric Clinic of Neurosurgery in Kyiv. The children were examined one more time there. It turned out that the CSF-shunt system didn’t’ work. It had to be replaced.
