Can you imagine that someone would like to know one’s oncologic diagnosis as soon as possible? Nobody would like to develop cancer. But cancer is treacherous. It appears insensibly, and it gives symptoms at the time when every lost day is a catastrophe. We have to buy reagents necessary to determine a precise diagnosis for Kyiv Centre of Bone-Marrow Transplantation. It is impossible to prescribe treatment without this. Thus, a life of those who already feel impending symptoms and try to understand whether they have cancer or not depends on the fact if the Centre laboratory has these reagents in time.Э

"Immunofixation determines monoclonal component (pathologic protein) for people with multiple myeloma”, the lab chief tries to explain as simple as possible, but every second word still remains incomprehensible for an average person.

Finally, we found out that the required substance performs two functions:
1. Firstly, it determines what exactly type of cancer a certain patient has because cancer and multiple myeloma are wide notions. They cover a lot of different subtypes and treatment should be different. A doctor can make a decision of what kind of chemical therapy to start only based on the results of this analysis.
2. Secondly, this substance determines the presence of cancer cells. This is important during the process of treatment to understand if the medicines have an effect, whether there is a remission. At this, according to the international treatment protocols, these analyses should be done at precisely defined days.

The Centre will not be able to work without these reagents, and life of patients will become at double risk: not only cancer will be a danger, but also impossibility to provide relevant treatment. We will not allow this to happen.
