Let’s Bring Colours into Child’s Life!

The All-Ukrainian public Centre “Volunteer” asks for your help in organising lessons for orphaned children needing mental rehabilitation. Together we could let sunshine into their souls, making them warmer and lighter, so there will be sunshine in their eyes too!

The volunteers of our Centre (who do their good deeds absolutely for free) work with various groups of children in difficult circumstances. Most of them did not have in their lives many bright colours and impressions as other more fortunate children. These children found themselves in shelters or centres of social and mental rehabilitation because they ran away from their homes and violence of their parents.Our volunteers also work in hospitals with children who receive cancer treatment.

One of the areas of such work with children is conducting lessons with elements of art therapy and fairy tale therapy. These lessons help to bring bright colours and positive emotions into the lives of the children. Although this method may seem rather artificial, it is nonetheless efficient. Using various colours (colour pencils, felt-tip pens, paints, coloured paper, plasticine, pieces of fabric) the children create a fairy tale with their own hands, neutralising negative emotions and getting positive ones. Such lessons with elements of art therapy actually could accelerate their treatment process. They help children to learn how to create, to communicate with each other, encourage them to change their lives for the better and make them believe that they could do this with their own hands.

The volunteers conduct their lessons with elements of art therapy once a week at 4 children’s institutions and at the Oncohaematology Department of Okhmatdyt Children’s Hospital in Kyiv. To continue with this work we need funds for buying various materials used during the lessons. We ask you to help us to collect these funds necessary for buying paints, colour pencils, felt-tip pens, plasticine, various fabrics, sewing and buttons, coloured paper and cardboard, glue etc.

To implement this Project we need 12 000 UAH of donations.
