UPD: unfortunately, Egor died. The disease was stronger. The UBB team brings our sincere words of condolences to the boy’s family and thanks to everyone who supported Egor.

It is difficult when a child is ill in a family. It is very difficult for parents when this is an only child and is seriously ill. Yegor  is 6 years old. Of these, he has been living for almost 5 years with a diagnosis of cystic fibrosis, which he was diagnosed with at the age of 9 months.

Cystic fibrosis is a systemic hereditary disease in which all organs that secrete mucus are affected: the bronchopulmonary system, pancreas, liver, sweat glands, salivary glands, intestinal glands, sex glands. The basis of therapeutic care for patients is a well-matched life drug therapy, regular preventive examinations and inpatient treatment during exacerbations.

And Yegorchik is no exception – all the time the boy is constantly taking medicine and inhalations, twice a year he was in the hospital. The child is under constant supervision and registered with specialists: a pulmonologist, a gastroenterologist, a geneticist and a cardiologist. But the boy's health problems did not end there. In winter, after a serious illness, he was diagnosed with aplastic anemia. In March of this year, when examined in the gastroenterology department, Yegor was diagnosed with liver cirrhosis on the METAVIR F 3-4 class B according to Child-Pugh scale with a high degree of activity. Then - diabetes mellitus.

From July to the present, Yegorchik has been in the hospital: he was undergoing treatment in the endocrinology department – insulin therapy was started. After examination in the endocrinology department, the boy was transferred to the pulmology department, where he is still undergoing constant treatment. He was prescribed the drug Sandimmune, constant antibacterial and fungal therapy. But despite the ongoing immunosuppressive therapy, Yegor still has anemia, leukopenia and thrombocytopenia. In this regard, transfusion of platelets, erythrocytes and fresh frozen plasma is carried out for a substitution purpose.

To date, the boy's condition is extremely serious. He has nosebleeds, hemorrhages on the oral mucosa, hemorrhagic rash on the face, trunk, limbs. Yegor needs further immunosuppressive therapy with Sandimmune. The family's financial situation is very difficult: only the father works, he tries to support his son as best he can. The mother is now on parental leave. There is nowhere to wait for help.

Please support Egor!
