Igor suffers from constant injections. 2
Igor is now 11 years old, and for almost 8 years he has been living with type 1 diabetes. A month before his fourth birthday, Ihor became sad, weak, rapidly losing weight and thirsty. Unfortunately, all these symptoms were not accidental. The boy was diagnosed with diabetes. Resuscitation, insulin, a nervous breakdown for mother and child. The family was in trouble, but they had to learn to live with it.
In April 2022, Ihor, his mother and older brother were forced to leave Donetsk region for a village in Kharkiv region. Ihor is in the 6th grade and is an excellent student. This school year, he participated in the city stages of Ukrainian language and literature competitions. The boy is also interested in programming.
Thanks to the help of caring people, six months ago Igor received blood monitoring sensors. Finally, the child and his mother got a break from the constant pain and worry. The boy's fingers have healed, as he suffered from punctures 15 times a day. Ihor has become calmer, because with the sensor, it is possible to take timely measures in case of sharp fluctuations in sugar, which are very harmful to the body and shorten a person's life.
Ihor's mother is raising him on her own. Due to the forced resettlement and having a sick child, it is very difficult for her to find a job in the village. She has no money to buy sensors, and the state does not provide sensors for the child. The woman is forced to seek help again.
