His little body cannot cope without us

Even before he was born, doctors detected enlarged ventricles in Sasha’s brain and a cleft lip. The boy was born at full term, but after further examination, another diagnosis emerged: hydrocephalus. Fortunately, surgery was not required, but by the age of six months, the baby began showing signs of developmental delay.

Sashko is now four years old. His diagnoses include spastic tetraparesis, a congenital brain defect, delayed psychomotor development, and pseudobulbar syndrome. He cannot walk on his own, stands only in orthoses near a support, can hold onto things with his hands, but does not speak.

Despite all this, the boy is fighting bravely. Thanks to the support of his family and the work of doctors, he has already overcome a lot: he underwent surgery on his lip, completed a course of treatment prescribed by a neurologist, and attended a rehabilitation center. The results are inspiring.

"During and after the rehabilitation course, we noticed that Sasha became more attentive and focused on completing tasks. His finger grip has improved; he can stand with support for 5-10 minutes and try to take his first steps while holding onto a hand! We are very grateful to everyone who is helping our son in his efforts," says Sasha’s mother.

For his family, these are real little miracles that give them faith in big changes. However, to keep moving forward, the boy needs to continue his rehabilitation. That’s why we’re starting a fundraiser for a new course for Sasha.
