Yegor is a cheerful, active, and passionate boy who loves music and sports. He is learning to play the drums at music school, plays soccer with his friends, and loves riding his bike. Yegor's health problems began very early: in the first weeks of his life, he was hospitalized with pneumonia. His childhood was difficult – the boy was often ill, and at one point he developed seizures. But it was a common cold that radically changed his life.
The illness, which developed into laryngitis, had a strong impact on his young body: the child constantly wanted to eat, went to the toilet frequently, and asked for sweets. Tests showed that his sugar level was almost three times higher than normal, and doctors at the regional hospital gave him a disappointing diagnosis: type 1 diabetes.
Since then, everything has changed: the daily routine, the menu, needs, even the attitude of relatives. Yegor's condition varies from day to day, because sometimes, despite all the medications, his sugar levels get out of control. But the family does not give up, trying to take the best care of the boy and not let the disease stand in his way.
But along with the other changes came a change in expenses – providing everything a sick child needs is incredibly difficult for the family. There are four of them: a father who works in forestry, a mother who does not work in order to take care of the children, Yegor, and his sister Polina. They live in a rented apartment because their home village is dangerously close to the border with Belarus. Yegor needs help with glucose monitoring sensors.
