Veronika's fight for life began before she was born. At the 7th month of pregnancy, doctors diagnosed the girl with congenital malformations of the central nervous system and spine. After being born at 38 weeks, Veronika was immediately transported to the intensive care unit of OKHMATDYT, where a serious diagnosis was confirmed: multiple pathologies of the central nervous system, spine, hydrocephalus and Chiari malformation of the second degree.

On the second day of her life, the little patient underwent her first spinal cord surgery, and soon afterwards her hydrocephalus was corrected. At seven months old, Veronika underwent another complex brain surgery, and in 2020, she was fitted with a shunt to drain excess fluid.

Now Veronika is 6 years old. Despite her numerous diagnoses – spastic tetraparesis, Spina Brifida, internal hydrocephalus, deformity of the feet and severe delayed psycho-speech development – she continues to fight every day. Her journey is a story of strength, patience and faith in the best.

Rehabilitation has become a real salvation for Veronika, and after each new course she shows very good results in her physical and speech development. Unfortunately, due to the war and frequent illnesses, Veronika has to visit rehabilitation centers less often, which negatively affects her condition. Now the girl needs a new course of treatment.
