Veronika has been fighting for her life from its very first moments. Even before she was born, during the seventh month of pregnancy, doctors discovered severe congenital abnormalities of her brain and spinal cord. On just the second day of her life, tiny Veronika underwent surgery on her spine, followed by brain surgery, another operation at six months old, and at the age of one, doctors placed a shunt in her brain to drain excess fluid.
Today, Veronika is 7 years old, but instead of a carefree childhood filled with games, running, and laughter, her life is filled with hospitals, pain, treatment, and a daily struggle. She has multiple congenital malformations of the central nervous system, Spina Bifida, symptomatic focal epilepsy, and cognitive impairment.
Every movement requires enormous effort from Veronika, and every new skill is a small victory achieved through months of exhausting therapy. But she does not give up, and rehabilitation is bringing results. After rehabilitation courses, Veronika began to understand spoken language better, her sleep improved, and most importantly, she gradually started to hold her head up and sit. For most children, these are ordinary milestones, but for Veronika, they are true miracles achieved through her daily struggle. Rehabilitation cannot be stopped, because without continuous therapy, the precious progress she has made could be lost.
Her family has already exhausted all of their financial resources and can no longer afford to pay for further rehabilitation courses on their own.
Right now, Veronika desperately needs our help. She has already endured more than any child should ever have to face, yet she continues to fight. Please help her keep going, help her take another step toward a life without constant pain. Join the fundraiser and give Veronika a chance to continue her fight.
