Ksenia is a cheerful little girl. She loves animals and soft toys, she draws and dances with enthusiasm, and she goes to kindergarten with joy.
The illness came to the girl unexpectedly. At first, Ksenia fell ill with bronchitis, but she underwent treatment, and it seemed that everything was over. But after some time after recovery, the little girl began to drink a lot of water, get tired quickly, lose weight and vitality. The parents again turned to the doctors, took tests and got an appointment with an endocrinologist. It was then that the life of the whole family was divided into "before" and "after". The diagnosis sounded like a sentence – type 1 diabetes. Hospital, intensive care, drips, endless finger pricks, insulin injections… Hope for a normal, carefree childhood disappeared in an instant.
After discharge, Ksenia and her mother returned home, but the fight for the child's life continues every day. Daily insulin injections, constant finger pricks to measure blood glucose levels, the child's tears, nighttime hypoglycemia and constant fear for her condition have become part of life.
Until 2025, Ksenia's family lived in Pokrovsk, but due to the war, they were forced to leave their home and move to another city, starting everything from scratch. The girl's mother and father combine work and constant care for their daughter, but due to high rent prices, utilities and expensive medicines, Ksenia still does not have enough income. That is why the family is forced to apply for a grant.
The parents are very much asking for support so that Ksenia has a chance for stable treatment, a safe childhood and a life without constant fear for every day of her life.
