Ruslan is 14 years old, and for 8 of those years he has been suffering from type 1 diabetes (insulin-dependent). He is a sincere, modest, and cheerful boy who is always busy with something. He loves soccer, basketball, and cooking. He goes to the pool, gets back massages, goes swimming, and exercises every day because he also has a diagnosis of “grade 2 scoliosis.” Ruslan has to work to correct this problem. But an active life is difficult for him.
Due to the heavy physical exertion, the young man's blood sugar level is very unstable. His body reacts even to the weather and his mood. In addition, Ruslan is currently going through puberty, and his hormonal background causes sharp fluctuations in his blood sugar. This requires continuous monitoring, which can be provided by sensors.
Constant monitoring helps prevent complications in the body due to sharp spikes, prevent hyperglycemia or hypoglycemia, and signal the need for timely assistance so that the child does not fall into a coma.
Sensors help control blood sugar levels, allowing the child to lead a normal lifestyle, as is customary for teenagers.
Ruslan is not the only child in the family, so it is financially very difficult to provide everything necessary for his treatment, including monitoring sensors. Therefore, the family is hoping for help and believes in the kindness of people's hearts.
