Sviatoslav looks like an ordinary child, energetic and cheerful. The two-year-old boy loves his mother very much and loves to play with other children. However, for a year now, the boy and his family have been struggling with a very serious illness - type I diabetes. His mother's labor went smoothly, and Svyatoslav was born healthy and very welcome. But at the age of more than a year, the child began to lose weight dramatically and drink water very often. One day, the boy stopped walking and eating altogether, barely breathing. The frightened mother called an ambulance, where doctors could not understand the cause of the sudden illness for a long time. Only after conducting a blood test, the specialists were able to come to the conclusion that the baby had an exorbitant blood sugar level.
The family constantly has to visit hospitals, undergo examinations and tests to monitor the child's condition and prescribe additional treatment to alleviate Sviatoslav's symptoms. Unfortunately, this is the extent of the doctors' help so far, as the disease is incurable. Every day brings new challenges for such a young child and his mother: frequent mood and appetite changes, discomfort in the child's tummy, constant fatigue, sudden sugar spikes and drops, when every second counts, and a wrong reaction can cost the baby his life.
But diabetes is not necessarily a death sentence. Today, there are a variety of devices that can make life much easier for the patient and their family, allowing them to live life to the fullest. But a low-income family can only dream about them. A mother takes care of her son all the time, who needs round-the-clock care and attention. State aid is not enough to cover the exorbitant prices of glucose monitoring sensors. Give Sviatoslav the opportunity to see the world in all its colors!
