Mykola's birth was very difficult. The baby suffered from asphyxia, which seriously damaged his nervous system. Doctors fought for his life for five days, followed by a month of treatment at OKHMATDYT and a long struggle for the boy's health.
At the age of one, Mykola was given a terrible diagnosis – cerebral palsy. He is now 10 years old, but he still cannot sit, walk, or speak properly on his own. At the same time, the boy's intellect is fully intact. He is a very bright, kind, and intelligent child who dreams of living like all children, walking, running, playing, and talking.
Rehabilitation gives him a chance. After the last course of treatment, Mykola's condition improved: he became more attentive, began to say more words, and tried to stand on his own. After a course of massage therapy, the boy's left leg began to work, and he began to make his first attempts to walk with support. These small steps are huge victories for Mykola. But the road to recovery is long and very expensive. Mykola's mother is raising him alone and has already exhausted all her options in trying to give her son a chance at a life without pain and limitations.
Today, Mykola is in dire need of further rehabilitation. We appeal to all caring people to help. Every hryvnia, every repost, every show of support can bring Mykola closer to his dream of taking his first independent steps.
