One day, at the age of two and a half, the active and lively Tetiana's mood began to change radically. The child started drinking a lot of water and going to the toilet. This instantly alarmed the family because Tania's father has type 1 diabetes. Of course, there was a glucometer in the house. With a sinking heart, her mother measured her daughter's blood sugar. The woman was dumbfounded by the numbers the device showed. So they immediately called an ambulance and went to the hospital. Then some strange things happened: at the hospital, her mother was told that the girl's sugar was normal, but that her acetone level was high. Tania was admitted to the hospital, but only after three days of treatment it turned out that the girl did have diabetes. The worried parents went to another hospital, where they started injecting insulin, measuring her blood sugar, and putting her on an intravenous drip.
This ordinary rural family has two children, both girls. Tania is the eldest of the two. Like all girls her age, Tania likes to paint and model with clay, and she is a bit shy.
She has to prick her fingers constantly to measure her blood sugar. In addition, she has to inject insulin 4-5 times a day. This is a very difficult and stressful procedure for the child and her mother. Tania runs away, cries, hides. It is very painful for a little girl. But it is very expensive for her family to buy sensors that help avoid punctures. Tania's mother is asking for help to buy sensors and treat her daughter.
