The Regional Family Health Medical Center of the Dnipro Regional Council is one of the leading perinatal and neonatal centers in the central-eastern region of Ukraine. The hospital provides a continuous cycle of care: from counseling pregnant women to nursing newborns, including premature babies and infants with complicated conditions.
With the start of full-scale war, the center plays a strategic role in providing assistance to families who have been forced to leave their homes due to hostilities. Dnipropetrovsk region has become one of the largest hubs for internally displaced persons, especially from Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson, and Zaporizhzhia regions.
Every month, the hospital receives significantly more patients than before the war: pregnant women, newborns from risk groups, children with complex perinatal conditions, as well as babies born to displaced families.
The stable operation of the center is critically important for the region. It is a place where the lives of the youngest are saved, and women and families who have experienced the loss of their homes, evacuation, and the psychological consequences of war are supported.
One of the key departments within the medical center is the department for the care of premature and low-weight babies. It is here that doctors fight for the lives of babies born weighing between 500 and 2,000 grams, who have critical respiratory and cardiovascular disorders or require long-term intensive care.
Premature babies are the most vulnerable group of patients. Their bodies are unable to maintain many vital functions on their own, so every aspect of their care depends on precise medical equipment.
The situation is complicated by the fact that pregnant women and newborns are being evacuated en masse to Dnipro from frontline regions where conditions for childbirth were dangerous or unstable. It is not uncommon for children to be born in a state of hypoxia, after the stress of a long journey, or simply because they did not receive proper care during pregnancy.
For such patients, accurate infusion therapy is a chance to survive.
Premature babies and children in serious condition require constant, accurate, and controlled administration of medication. Their bodies are so sensitive that even the slightest error in dosage can lead to complications such as cardiac arrhythmias, fluid overload, tissue necrosis, or respiratory arrest.
The Aitecs 2016 infusion pump provides:
• Absolute accuracy in drug delivery.
This is extremely important for babies weighing 500-1200 grams, where the dose is measured not in milliliters, but in tenths of a milliliter.
• Continuity of drug administration.
Especially during surgery, transport, or connection to new equipment.
• The ability to administer multiple drugs simultaneously.
The standard of intensive care for newborns with respiratory failure, seizures, or infectious complications.
• Complete safety for newborns.
The pump protects against fluid overload, pressure fluctuations, and sudden changes in infusion rate.
• Reliability in 24/7 mode.
In a department where every minute can be crucial, equipment must work flawlessly.
• Reducing the human factor.
The conditions of war and the increased workload on medical professionals make automation critically necessary.
During wartime, the birth of a child is not only a joy, but often a challenge for the family and the healthcare system.
The Regional Family Health Medical Center is a place where medical professionals take on this struggle, saving the lives of the youngest every day. The purchase of four infusion syringe pumps is not just a reinforcement of the hospital's technical base.
It is an opportunity to give life, preserve the health of children born in extremely difficult conditions, and support families experiencing war.
Your contribution to this project is a contribution to the future of children, their safety, and their right to life.
