This is Milana, she is just three years old. She is a kind, gentle, and very smiley little one. She loves playing, laughing, hugging her mother, and finding joy in every day – just like all children. But her childhood is anything but carefree.
Milana has type 1 diabetes. It is a disease that never goes away and demands constant monitoring 24/7, with no days off and no rest. Every day for her is a struggle: finger pricks many times a day, insulin injections that her life depends on, strict dietary control, blood sugar checks even at night, and the fear of sudden spikes that can be dangerous.
She is still far too young to understand why she is in pain, why she cannot simply live and play like other children, why her mother worries and cannot sleep at night.
Sometimes she cries. And that is the hardest thing – seeing the tears of such a small child because of the pain from injections.
Her parents do everything they can so that Milana can live a full life. But diabetes is not only about strength and patience – it also means enormous, ongoing costs. Every month sensors for blood sugar monitoring, test strips, insulin, and other consumables are needed. Without these, it is impossible to keep the disease under control and protect the child from complications.
Please support Milana with sensors. Even a small contribution is already a significant help!
This little one is very much in need of support.
