Anita is an incredibly sensitive and creative girl who was born and lives in the beautiful city of Ternopil. She has many friends who love and support her. Anita has been dancing since the first grade, participating in school performances, and drawing beautifully.
Her childhood was fun and interesting. But at the age of six, a seemingly innocent illness turned into something much more serious: she began to eat poorly, drink a lot of water, and become lethargic day after day. The tests brought terrible news – the girl was diagnosed with diabetes. The diagnosis caught her in the first grade, but Anita is doing well, she endured everything and continued to study well.
It has been 6 years since Anita learned to live in a new way. Every year she goes to the hospital for examination, follows a diet, and continues to prick her fingers with needles every day to control her sugar and inject the right dose of insulin. But even with a routine that has become automatic, the only way to protect yourself is to use sensors for continuous blood sugar monitoring – these devices help to avoid complications, preventing critical conditions. Thanks to the sensors, Anita can have a full life, not be afraid to fall asleep or go to school.
But this safety and freedom comes at a price, and a very high one. Especially for a family where Anita and her younger brother Artem are provided for only by their father. They have gone through and continue to go through a lot of darkness with courage and optimism – help them not to lose that light within themselves!
