Roman’s life began with a premature birth and a struggle – the baby suffered a brain hemorrhage immediately after birth and required prolonged inpatient treatment. Over the years, the boy has undergone six brain surgeries, including ventricular drainage and the implantation of a shunt system. Each one was a trial for the little boy and his family.
But Roman doesn’t give up. He is a bright, cheerful boy who bravely moves forward despite the diagnoses that are robbing him of a healthy childhood – acquired hydrocephalus, structural focal epilepsy, and right-sided hemiparesis. These conditions cause developmental delays and require systematic treatment.
Roman is now 3 years old, and he has started walking more confidently; his muscles have strengthened, and his coordination has improved. The boy has started to respond more actively to his surroundings, smile more often, and even make his first attempts at making sounds! All of this is thanks to the boy’s perseverance and regular therapy sessions.
"These changes aren’t just medical indicators – they’re a true joy for the whole family, because we see our child taking steps forward," says Roman’s mom.
Unfortunately, the family has already exhausted its financial resources, and rehabilitation must continue. That is why we are calling on everyone to join our project so that Roman can return to the rehabilitation center. Your contribution could make all the difference!
