A step towards health

5-year-old Sofia has been fighting the disease all her life. She has a congenital CNS malformation, spastic tetraparesis, symptomatic epilepsy, and eye problems (strabismus). For a long 5 years, constant treatment and rehabilitation has been going on, requiring constant work, systematic and financial support. In fact, this is very difficult for both Sofia and her family, but none of them is going to give up!

This story began like thousands of others: the girl was born at term, she was a healthy child. However, when Sonia was a month old, her parents began to notice how the girl shuddered and strangely brushed her hands. Doctors, having examined the baby, diagnosed her with a malformation of the central nervous system – hypoplasia of the corpus callosum, epilepsy and spastic tetraparesis. Actually, since then the treatment began, which continues to this day.

Now Sofia does not sit on her own, does not walk and does not speak. Fortunately, rehabilitation, which the girl needs to attend regularly, helps a lot. After them, she gets stronger, better demonstrates her emotions and often smiles. Sonia is already holding and raising her head, and with a nod of her head she can answer yes or no questions. Parents do everything to ensure that their daughter receives all the necessary skills, so all their savings are spent on medicines, massages and rehabilitation. Now the financial resources of the family are completely exhausted, but the rehabilitation needs to continue to be paid for, because without them the restoration of Sofia's health will not take place.
