Kurazh Garage Sale 2024: Hospitallers
The aim of our project was to provide fuel for the evacuation vehicles of the Hospitallers Medical Volunteer Battalion. The battalion has no state support, and the volunteer medics work thanks to the help of caring people.
Their monthly fuel needs are about UAH 1 million. The money received as a result of the Kurazh Garage Sale 2024. Hospitallers’ project, was transferred to the account of the Hospitallers Charitable Foundation. The crews receive fuel cards with which they can pay for fuel at the above-mentioned WOG petrol stations.
The funds received (UAH 184,000) enabled 10 crews, including the long-distance evacuation bus Avstriyka, to use fuel between 15 November and 15 December. In total, over 130 refuelling sessions were carried out at WOG filling stations alone during this period, filling vehicles with more than 8,000 litres of fuel. The donated amount of UAH 184,000 helped to provide 61 refuelling stations with more than 4,000 litres of diesel fuel.
During this time, the crews were able to refuel from Kyiv to Kharkiv, Mykolaiv, Dnipro and Poltava regions. Most refuelling stops were made in Dnipropetrovska oblast (24), while Pavlohrad had the highest number of refuelling stops in Dnipro oblast (15).
These refuelling operations made it possible to evacuate wounded soldiers in the combat zone and provide medical care in these areas. The Hospitallers Medical Battalion is a volunteer organisation of paramedics. It was founded by Yana Zinkevich at the beginning of the hostilities in Ukraine in 2014. Their work is about saving lives and providing hope for thousands of soldiers in the war zone. In the difficult conditions of war, providing evacuation crews with fuel is critical to their functioning.
