Rehabilitation program for Davyd

Davyd from Dnipro did not speak for a long time and was not interested in the world around him. Now he studies, plays, and is beginning to communicate. And each such achievement is the result of the tremendous effort and faith of his parents.

Up to 10 months, Davyd developed like a typical child. Later, his parents noticed that he did not make eye contact, did not play with toys, and did not respond to his loved ones.

The family began to look for the cause of this condition: Davyd underwent examinations and tests, but they could not find any answers.

A year and a half ago, a speech therapist advised them to consult a nutritionist. After complex tests that were sent to the USA, it was found that Davyd has an impaired detoxification process – his body cannot cope with the effects of toxic substances on its own.

Currently, the boy is undergoing medical treatment. The first course of therapy lasts four months and is almost completed. It cost the family UAH 110,000. In six months, Davyd’s hair will be sent to America again to assess the effectiveness of the treatment. Two more courses are ahead. The entire treatment will last five years.

With the start of detoxification, Davyd made noticeable progress in development: he began to speak in phrases, became more independent in everyday life, memorizes poems and pronounces the first letter or syllable of each word, plays with toys, and has learned to read and write.

The boy studies in the second grade under an individual program at the specialized school "Chance". Davyd reaches out to other children, but when they are noisy, he gets confused because he does not understand why it is so loud.

Above all, Davyd loves water. He enjoys swimming in the pool with a coach, dives to the bottom for toys, holds his breath for a long time, and has already learned to swim crawl. His parents invest all their resources in their son’s development: they pay for sessions with a speech therapist, a sensory integration specialist, and swimming.
