People suffer from a tornado in Dnipropetrovsk region

One year ago in the village Voloske (Dnipropetrovsk region) Center for migrants from eastern Ukraine was opened. Villagers took fellow citizens with an open heart: carrying food and clothes, someone blew the family to live in your home, someone employed on own farm. Over the summer, the Centre provided support to 728 people. Therefore today Voloske unexpectedly faced the trouble. Tornado left 26 houses without roofs, and some surrounding villages got without electricity and gas.

The grid is been promised to restore soon, but gas pipes are broken and bent. In some houses, not only roof is destroyed but walls are either. Weather residents of Volosskoe village will get aid such as they helped last year needy fellow citizens?

It hurts to look at streets left without trees, even more painful to see the destroyed houses: everything is mutilated with tornado. Before a tornado was outlandish guest on Ukrainian lands, now because of climate change, we can expect that it may often visit our area. The one that "walked" 26.06.2015 in the village Voloske, was 100 meters wide, 1 km high, and raged just 15 minutes. Though it was enough to pick up and carry away roofs from houses, shatter walls, destroy fences, trees and wrest the metal gate, "catch of” fish in the river and throw it through the streets of the village.

Thanks to God, there is almost no casualties; however, an elderly woman nearly blew a whirlwind, daughter helped her hold on to the railing of the porch; another woman got hurt leg with broken glass. But in order to rebuild the destroyed buildings, big finance is required. Every villager suffering from natural disaster is clutching his head – most people do not have money to buy materials. Affected areas need early recovery.

Authorities count damage caused by the tornado of more than a million hryvnas. We start a fundraising campaign to raise 65 759 UAH for 26 houses of people suffering from the tornado in the village of Volosskoe. This amount will be enough to buy the materials needed to repair the roofs.
