Maksim is nine years old. He is an ordinary boy – he likes playing soccer, building with construction sets, and watching adventure movies. But there is one thing that sets him apart from most of his peers: since the age of seven, he has been living with type 1 diabetes.
It all started when Maks became very tired, drank a lot of water, and went to the toilet frequently. His parents became concerned and took him to the doctor, where tests confirmed their suspicions.
The first days in the hospital were the hardest. Maks was afraid of injections and didn't understand why he couldn't eat sweets like before. But over time, the boy learned to live by the new rules. Every day, he measures his blood sugar, injects insulin, and follows a proper diet. His parents and doctors have become his best helpers. Maksym openly tells his friends about his condition: they know that he always needs to have a glucometer and something sweet on hand in case of hypoglycemia, and they support him, which gives him the strength to be brave.
Although life with diabetes is not easy, Maksim does not give up. He dreams of becoming a doctor to help children like himself. At his young age, he is already an example of courage and strength of spirit. However, even the strongest sometimes need help: diabetes exhausts not only the boy's body, but also his family's finances, especially for sensors. Help them not to lose hope!
