Baby in the photo is Maryana Syniuka from Kharkiv. The girl is only three months old. But at the age of two months from the birth the child has already been diagnosed with severe diagnose: retinoblastoma of the left eye. This is not the first case of illness in the family – the mother and grandfather on the maternal line have the bilateral retinoblastoma. Maryana inherited this disease.

In a special examination (scan) at the place of residence, doctors suspected the retinoblastoma from and the baby was sent for further examination to the Institute of Eye Diseases in Odessa. Special examinations have been carried out and confirm the fears of doctors: Maryana has a retinoblastoma of the left eye. The doctors conducted the operation on the left eye and prescribed treatment: local chemotherapy with Alkeran in combination with general chemotherapy.

Treatment will be carried out in the following way: the general chemotherapy for the child is carried out in the Kharkov OKB No. 1 in the oncohematological department, and for the injection of Alkeran, the mother will take Maryana to Odessa.

We open a fundraising for 3 vials of Alkeran for the amount of 20 926 UAH. This amount is very large for the family of Maryana because the parents of the little girl are the invalids of the first group by eyesight.
