Mykhailo from Lviv is 10 years old. He is fighting a rare condition called craniosynostosis, where the skull closes too early, limiting brain growth and causing increased pressure inside the skull. This happens in only one baby out of 2,000.
Mykhailo has already undergone three major surgeries: the first at 8 months, the second at 17 months, and the third – eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) in 2022. He faced every treatment bravely, with a smile and an incredible eagerness to learn and play!
This year, Mykhailo became one of three children to undergo a highly complex craniofacial surgery at the National Children's Hospital "Okhmatdyt" with the participation of leading French surgeon Professor Romain Hounsari from Necker-Enfants Malades Hospital in Paris. The surgery was free of charge, but the special plates needed to fix his skull are not covered by the state program and must be paid for by the family. Their own resources are not enough to cover the plates, which cost 171,191 UAH.
Mykhailo is a curious and talented boy. He loves math, English, riding his bike, solving puzzles, mosaics, and making diamond art pictures. He adores school, his friends, and his family, who are always by his side. This time, however, he will have to study at home while recovering from surgery.
Let’s give Mykhailo the chance for a healthy and happy future! Join the fundraiser and help him today!
