A place of communication for lonely old people. 9

A very important factor for maintaining a healthy psycho-emotional state of elderly is the presence of regular communication in their lives. Without communication, unfortunately, they close in on themselves and put their lives on hold. Today, in the conditions of war, it is very important for elderly to maintain contact with the outside world, primarily in order to ask for timely help and support. Today, the Active Longevity Club "Druha Molodist" acts as a bridge between the elderly and society.

The club "Druha molodost" has been operating in Kharkiv since 2001. With the beginning of hostilities, due to the fact that the club is located in Northern Saltivka, which was massively bombarded by Russia, meetings of the elderly, of course, were not held. But the project manager regularly communicated with them by phone, and when possible, the elderly received food packages. To the delight of the beneficiaries, in the spring of 2023, the club began its work in the old premises, where it still operates today.

In addition to communication, joint activities based on interests, and mutual assistance, a new option has appeared. Today, the club employs psychologists who help elderly overcome personal traumas and experiences. Of course, everyone who attends the club is an active and positive senior citizen who is grateful to everyone who supports the work of this important and necessary project.

In order for the club to continue to operate, the fund needs funds every month to pay for the rent of the premises, utility costs, salaries for project employees and the cost of goodies for tea parties. As there is currently a shortage of funds, the fund is looking for funding. In this project, we invest money to pay utilities/rent and buy goodies. We ask each of you to support us, make any charitable donation and support the elderly. Even a small donation in the amount of the price of a cup of coffee and a cake will do a great good deed - it will help the elderly not to be left alone with their loneliness and helplessness.
