Youth with disabilities are planting trees in Lviv
Dream Workshop is a center for young people with mental disabilitie. We work to develop our students' independence: helping them learn financial literacy skills, cooking, and understanding how to build relationships.
We are convinced that people have more responsibilities than just developing personal skills, we live in the same country, the same city, walk the same streets, so we have to do something together to improve the world around us.
So we decided to make our hometown greener. We enlisted the support of experts, found out which tree species are the most relevant for Lviv, where to plant them, and planned everything together. What's left is to raise the funds for the saplings.
Thanks to your support we will not only generate extra oxygen in the big city, make the streets more visually attractive, create shaded spaces to escape the heat or shelter from the rain. We will show society that people with mental disabilities are not passive consumers of other people's care but can be active and not indifferent to the problems around them. That everyone can join the right cause. That the diagnosis does not stand in the way of being a responsible citizen.
We know that our example will inspire others to take a more active role in their community – plant a tree, collect the garbage in a nearby forest or start recycling waste. Because we are all connected, and the spark we ignite will burn in others.
We are grateful for your support, for every contribution, regardless of the size. Because it's a way to show that you believe in the inner strength of people with disabilities. And we become co-creators of change – in the life of an individual, in the whole world.
