Objective: to collect UAH 1 372 000  for an ultrasound machine in the premature infant care department of the National Children's Specialized Hospital "OKHMATDYT", which accepts young patients from all over Ukraine. These are premature babies with critically low body weight, at risk, who need qualified medical care. Every year, more than 200 children are helped here who would not be able to be helped in other medical institutions in the country.

A premature baby is born with immature organs and systems, has a high risk of pathology of the lungs, digestive system, genitourinary system, as well as a high percentage of cerebral hemorrhages of varying degrees.

For the treatment of this child it is important to make a timely and correct diagnosis, which is based not only on clinical and laboratory tests, but also on such an important - ultrasound examination, without which it is impossible to provide quality and qualified care to premature and newborn children. It is needed for the timely diagnosis of pathology of the brain, pathology of internal organs, kidneys and musculoskeletal system in all premature infants.

The peculiarity of Okhmatdyt's premature babies department is that the most difficult cases from all over Ukraine get here. It treats children with critically low weight (sometimes less than 500 grams), with the most severe pathologies and birth defects.

This model of ultrasound will help from the first hours of life to detect signs of critical congenital heart disease, diseases of the brain, kidneys and other organs, make a correct diagnosis and refer the child for treatment in a specialized hospital or involve a specialist for surgery, treatment, assistance.
