Roman is only 8 years old, but he already knows the value of every step. Since birth, he has been living with cerebral palsy and right-sided hemiparesis, which means that moving his right arm and leg requires much greater effort than for other children. Roman has already undergone two complex surgeries and is now facing another critically important stage of treatment – the removal of metal implants that remain in his body after previous operations. The surgery itself will be performed free of charge at a public hospital, but a special surgical kit required for the procedure is not covered by the state and must be purchased by the family. That is why we are asking for support – to help Roman receive treatment on time and continue his journey toward an active life.
Roman Lytvynov was born on March 21, 2018, in Cherkasy, Ukraine. He is a cheerful, intelligent, and curious boy who loves communicating and dreams about the future just like any other child. Roman wants to learn modern dance, play the piano, and even become a famous blogger one day. But to make these dreams come true, he has to work much harder than most children his age.
Because of damage to certain areas of the brain, the right side of Roman’s body is affected, and his muscles remain under constant tension. Cerebral palsy itself does not progress, but without treatment and rehabilitation, movement limitations may become more noticeable as a child grows. That is why Roman has been attending continuous rehabilitation, physical therapy, and recovery programs since infancy. His efforts have already brought meaningful progress, and doctors see strong potential for further improvement.
Roman has already undergone two surgeries on his upper and lower limbs. Now he has reached an important stage that cannot be postponed – removing the implanted metal structures. This procedure is necessary to support further recovery, improve mobility, and create better conditions for continued rehabilitation. After surgery, Roman will continue systematic rehabilitation because consistency is the key to helping children with this diagnosis reach their fullest potential.
For many years, the family has covered treatment, rehabilitation, and special care expenses on their own. Today, their resources are exhausted. We kindly ask you to support Roman and help provide the surgical kit required for this operation. This is not just a medical expense – it is an opportunity for a boy to move more freely, live more actively, and take another confident step toward his dreams. Together, we can help Roman live beyond his diagnosis.
