Feed the elderly during quarantine. 2

Today, almost 740 thousand single elderly people live in Ukraine. All of them continue to be at increased risk of infection with COVID-19. The quarantine, which is extended throughout the country, is aimed primarily at preventing the spread of the virus among the population vulnerable to the disease. Having concomitant chronic diseases, lonely old people are afraid to go out, which makes them hostages of their own homes.  

The issue of purchasing and delivering food and hygiene products to lonely old people remains relevant today.

The Kharkiv Regional Charitable Fund "Social Assistance Service" has been implementing assistance projects for elderly people since 1999. The projects “Home Care” and “The Club of Active Longevity “Second Youth” provide the beneficiaries with a range of social services, which include the purchase and delivery of food products. Today, 98 people need help with these projects. Most of them are lonely grandparents, who are strictly forbidden to get to the shops and other public places!

Our main task today is to continue to provide them with food, as the situation in the country, unfortunately, has worsened and the number of cases is consistently high. We ask each of you to take part in a charity initiative and help to purchase food packages for our wards. In total, we need to collect UAH 30 833,74. So that old people who are left completely alone in this life will not again encounter a terrible feeling of hunger and indifference!
