Education under fire

The Russian war against Ukraine has been going on for 8 years. During this time, a whole generation of children lost normal living conditions, the opportunity to be with family and community, the right to health, the right to personal development, as well as the right to care and protection. Working with these children requires a special professional approach, and this experience is sorely lacking in Ukraine. Due to the scale of the problem, the state is unable to cope with the difficulties that arise during a full-scale war, so part of the work is taken over by non-governmental sector organizations.

Nikopol is located in the Dnipropetrovsk region, it is a front-line area. By order of the Ministry of Reintegration of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the Nikopol urban territorial community is included in the list of territorial communities that are located in the area of ​​military (combat) operations or that are under temporary occupation, encirclement (blockade). The city is currently under constant rocket attacks by the Russian occupiers every day, which have been ongoing since July 2022. The city is being shelled by barrel artillery from rocket salvo systems located on the territory of the occupied Zaporizhzhia region.

The educational process in Nikopol is organized remotely in an online format, which involves the use of modern gadgets. But due to destroyed infrastructure and damaged businesses, many people have lost their jobs, so they cannot provide their children with equipment for quality distance learning. On the other hand, educational institutions do not have the financial capacity to conduct training for teachers.In order to improve the education process of elementary school students and ensure uninterrupted education in war conditions, the "Wings of Ukraine Nikopol" foundation implements the "Learning under fire" project. Thanks to it, we plan to fill the gaps in the educational process of three Nikopol educational institutions - Lyceums № 4, 15, 24 of the Nikopol City Council and provide children with tablets, on each of which software will be installed with access to the educational interactive program "Edugames". We also want to provide teachers with high-quality office equipment and psychological support, as well as psychological adaptation of teachers to distance learning during wartime. To do this, we conduct a series of trainings to teach how to use electronic educational resources in the educational process, to teach how to work with children in war conditions, and to acquire psychological self-help skills.

On dobro.ua we are raising funds for 7 tablets (as part of the general project "Education under fire") for students of three lyceums in Nikopol, whose houses were destroyed and the children are currently unable to receive a full education because they do not have office equipment. Thanks to your support, children will be able to get a full school education in any safe place.
