We will not leave Zlata without support

Zlata is an open and cheerful girl, in whose eyes there is far more wisdom and pain than there should be at her 13 years of age. She loves life deeply, smiles sincerely through her tears, and above all else dreams of things that for other children are simply ordinary everyday life.

Her carefree childhood ended on the day doctors delivered a devastating diagnosis – type 1 diabetes. This disease fundamentally changed the lives of Zlata and her family. New rules, injections, counting every bite of food. But despite all of this, she tries to keep up with her peers and hold on to her optimism.

Recently the family was struck by an irreparable loss: Zlata lost her father. Her mother does everything she can on her own to provide her daughter with proper care. Meeting the needs of a child with diabetes requires significant and unrelenting financial costs. Every two weeks her mother is forced to purchase blood glucose monitoring sensors – and for a family that has lost its breadwinner, this is a heavy and unbearable burden. Her mother is unable to work properly, as Zlata's condition must be monitored around the clock. In addition to Zlata, her mother is also raising a younger son.

She is reaching out to caring people and sincerely asking for help and support for Zlata.
