Polina was born in May 2023. Her mother's pregnancy was going well, but the last ultrasound revealed a slight inflammation of the ventricles of the baby's brain. When the girl turned one month old, she was taken for routine examinations. Polly's first neurosonography showed that there was a problem and intraventricular hemorrhage. This was followed by an MRI, which showed hydrocephalus and ventricular enlargement, and a consultation at OKHMATDYT. Fortunately, the operation was not necessary.

But at the age of 3 months, at the next scheduled ultrasound, the doctors could not see Polina's brain - the ventricles were so enlarged. After that, the baby underwent several surgeries, and later right-sided body weakness, hydrocephalus, meningitis and treatment.

In January of this year, Polina was granted a disability status. Now the girl's condition has improved and she has begun to develop: she is already sitting confidently, crawling, saying some words and even wants to walk on her own, but due to the strong tone and weakness of her right leg, she cannot do so yet. The girl now needs rehabilitation and our support, so please join our project to help Polina!
