In the minds of most people, the birth of a child is a period filled with warm hugs, affection and caring mother. But sometimes it happens so that birth is given preterm, thus causing a lot of stress, fear and worries to family life. Instead of receiving mother's warmth, the premature born child is placed in the incubator, where the livelihoods of the tiny creature is controlled by numerous sensors and special devices.

To ensure the maximum comfort, warmth and peace for the child in such a difficult period, special positioners are needed that are specially developed for the process of nursing, along with the equipment covers, which protect the baby from bright light and noise. The purpose of this project warm the young patients Institute of Obstetrics, Pediatrics and Gynecology.

Departments of the Institute of Obstetrics, Pediatrics and Gynecology annually nurse the newborns from all over Ukraine. Over the past five years the number of premature babies increased gradually. While is 2007 the number of premature born took up to 9% – in 2012 it increased to 19%. From these children most belonged to the weight category of 1 000-1 500 grams. Also the number of babies born with the weight less than a 1 000 grams increased significantly.

Now the 12 specialized beds for nursing the newborns in the Institute of Obstetrics, Pediatrics and Gynecology are equipped with the equipped with diapers and twisted towels, which parents or medical personnel carve independently. We strive to improve the department where babies from all over Ukraine are nursed, because the health of our children – is the health of our nation and our future.

All positioners have unique properties of thermoregulation and heat retention, provide additional comfort and proper body position, and with it the proper blood circulation of the baby. Products for positioning newborns are developed together with leading neonatologists of Ukraine, taking into account all the peculiarities of children born prematurely. Using the "nests", special linings and pads helps to reduce agitation, normal functioning of respiration, digestion, helps to avoid negative impact on the circulation of the brain, skull deformities and severe motor abnormalities. With the help of positioning the child can "feel" its hands and feet, make less efforts for the movement, which allows the rehabilitation period of newborns take less time. Blackout of resuscitation tables and incubators by means of protective covers and curtains helps recreate the atmosphere of which was a child, when he was in the womb. This practice of nursing is not new, it is drawn from the leading perinatal practices in Europe.

Neonatologists and parents whose children were born prematurely, give only positive reviews after use of these products. Your help and support of the project is a sense of security and comfort of each premature born baby during the nursing and rehabilitation period.
