New opportunities for people with disabilities

In Khmelnytskyi, a large number of people with disabilities of various nosologies are hostages at home, as they are unable to use public transport for health reasons. Most people with disabilities do not have the opportunity to solve their social, medical, educational, and rehabilitation needs, due to the inability to move around the city on their own. The work of a social taxi in the city for people with disabilities gives them new opportunities to solve their pressing issues, the ability to communicate and socialize, education and development, and attract them to an active lifestyle.

СO "CF" Caritas-Khmelnitsky UGCC "provides versatile support and assistance to dozens of disadvantaged people, those for whom help from" Caritas "is the only chance, a lifeline. However, when a person is more or less healthy, has working arms and legs, then, of course, he has more chances to cope and get out of a difficult situation. The same cannot be said about the huge number of people confined to a wheelchair, partially paralyzed or blind. Such unfortunate people, turning to our foundation, beg for help, first of all, in helping them get out of the four walls and get where they urgently need. "Social taxis" operating under the СO "CF" Caritas-Khmelnitsky UGCC " provides services for the transportation of persons with disabilities to medical or social institutions. Also, this vehicle provides services for the transportation of patients with renal failure who are on hemodialysis to hospitals. There are 5 cars in total in the city. Such support is extremely valuable and necessary: ​​people with disabilities can be one of the most active categories of citizens - if only they are released from prison within four walls.

In total, we need to collect 22 872 UAH. To carry out at least 1 200 transportation of persons from among people with disabilities within two months.

Therefore, we appeal to everyone whose heart is open to those in need, to those who are rejected by society and helpless, to help in this noble deed of kindness and mercy, and it will certainly return to you a hundredfold! Each of us can join and become the one who will help these disadvantaged people to survive. Let us not be indifferent to the pain and problems of people with special needs.
